So I have to have a brag session for a minute. I am not a seamstress, but I recently bought a sewing machine and have been trying to teach myself to use it and become better at sewing. I've been frustrated maternity shopping because it's sooooooo.... hard to find cute, modest clothes that fit right and don't cost an arm and a leg. I had been eyeing a jean skirt at GAP, but I'm too cheap to put out the $60 that they were asking. I remembered that I had two jean skirts-one that was brand new (that I bought years ago at Old Navy on clearance for $10 or less) and never worn because the slit was way too high and I didn't have a machine to fix it. The other one I wear when I'm not pregnant. So, I took the top band off of the brand new skirt, removed the maternity band from a different skirt that I never liked or wore, and combined the two, and it worked! Now I have a cute jean skirt to wear this summer that will accommodate my growing belly, and it cost me nothing! Natalie took the picture and cut our heads off, but you get the idea, right?

Your skirt is so cute! Excellent job on it. And I want your shoes too.
