Easter Festivities

I'm not a fan of community egg hunts, so I always put one on for the kids at our home the day before Easter.  Unfortunately, Blake and I got slammed hard with the stomach flu the night before the egg hunt was to occur, so I thought we'd have to delay it.  But luckily I had just enough strength to still run out and hide some eggs because I know that this is such an important, fun tradition for the kids.
The kids decided a while back that they wanted to get money in their eggs instead of candy.  Since there's always plenty of candy to go around on Easter, I fill the eggs with loose change that I collect in my coin jar throughout the year.  Each child made out pretty well with around $5 a piece!

Then there was a surprise prize at the end with a clue in a golden egg that led them to their Reese's Bunnies!

Then the kids woke up at 6 am, as usual, Easter morn and had to hunt for their baskets because I'd hidden them.  Jane was worried she wouldn't ever find hers and started crying.  :)  The girls were particularly excited about their little Palace Pet toys.

Too bad I wasn't able to get a picture before church, because we were a little rough looking afterwards and the kids were tired.  We had to leave at 8 am from our house so I could practice with the choir.  I played my violin with them while they sang a beautiful song called "O Savior, Thou Who Wearest a Crown".  The kids sang three songs with the primary during sacrament meeting and it was adorable.  Unfortunately Rob was sick and had to miss it.

Love this family of mine!
