My sweet Natalie. How we love you! I still get a little sad each day when I drop you off for school, knowing it will be over six hours before we will have you home again. Blake misses you so much too when you are gone.
You are growing into quite the little lady. Your freckles are more pronounced, you have gorgeous blue eyes and a pretty little smile. You still have not lost a tooth, but that will happen soon enough, and so far you don't seem overly anxious.
You are a very intelligent girl. You excel in all areas in your school work, but especially in creativity, reading, and writing. You have always been above your grade level in reading. You love to make up stories on paper and in playing pretend. You have quite the imagination and I enjoy watching it run wild.
Your teacher right now is Ms. Lewis and she always has only praises to sing about you when I go to parent/teacher conferences. I can tell she loves having you as a student. She says you are a good example to your peers, which makes my heart happy, because it's something that your dad and I have been working really hard to teach.
You are also doing well socially at school. Your best friend now is Gwen. She just gave you a best friend's heart necklace. I'm glad you've found each other, because I fret often that you are content and having fun at school. You still play with lots of other kids, though, as your mom counseled you to not limit yourself to one friend.
I started teaching you piano this year and you are such a fast learner. You sight read very well and seem to enjoy playing, once you get the motivation (from mom) to sit down and practice.
You enjoy playing video games a little too much. But Blake has fun playing them with you, so I allow it to happen more often than I should. We're working on that. Right now you love Disney Infinity. I like it because it's a cute, imaginative game and involves your favorite Disney movie characters.
You are such a sweet sister to Blake and Jane. However, that red hair of yours comes with a fiery personality to match. :) Your temper gets the better of you on many occasions, but it's something that we are working really hard with you to overcome, and we know it can be done.
We are working on helping you to become more independent. You still like mommy to do many things for you, but we know that with encouragement and maybe some pressure on our part, you'll do fine.
You enjoy riding your bike with your brother on the street in front of our house and around the block. A few weeks ago, I let go of my fear a little and encouraged you to ride around the block by yourself. You were so worried that you wouldn't be able to make it back alone, but after some complaint and a few tears, you made the trek and did just fine. :) I love to watch you gain confidence in yourself and find new abilities.
You love animals and have been begging mom and dad to get you a pet. We are looking into it, much to mom's chagrin, but I'm hoping that it will help you to learn responsibility and increase your work ethic. You seem to have a special connection and love for animals and I want to support you in it.
Your dad and I are so grateful to be your parents. We love you with all our hearts and want the very best for you in all things.
Happy Birthday Sweet Girl!
Love Mom and Dad
