"Natalie Girl" Can Ride without Training Wheels!

Well, she's officially an amazing bike rider!  Natalie can ride a two wheeler now!  She was inspired by her three, almost four year old aunt who learned the other day how to ride a two wheeler.  She said, "How come Emmy can ride a big girl bike and I can't?"  I told her, "You can if you want."  And she wanted to.  We had tried last Saturday on the park sidewalk and things didn't go so well.  She got frustrated and we finally just called it a day.  But then yesterday I was determined to teach this girl how to ride a two wheeler, and I did.  I'm sorry to say that she is a perfectionist like her mommy, so if she can't do something the first time, she often just wants to give up and not do it.  I think that's why I was so determined to teach her, number one to show her that she CAN do it, and secondly to play down the fact that she is so much like me in that way.

I started her at the top of a small decline while I walked alongside her and supported her from the back.  Then I slowly let up on the support as she gained her balance, and after lots of tries and tears, she got it!  It was cute to watch her wobble all over the place as she learned.  I kept asking her if she wanted to take a break and try again some other time, but in between sobs, she'd say "No! I want to keep trying."  I'm so proud of my baby girl!  Now we just need to work on the brake thing.  She stops with her feet.

She's already too big for her bike, but small bikes are so much easier to learn on, and she had less distance to fall when she crashed.

 My cute big girl!

Of course Blake wanted to join in on the fun.  He's pretty good on his little balance bike.

How cute! I am right there with ya on the whole "if I can't do it perfect the first time then I don't want to do it at all" thing. I didn't know Emmy could ride a big girl bike. Haha that's funny.
