I can't believe it's been a whole year since I had my sweet baby Blake.
A few things about my cutie:
- He's finally sleeping through the night now, but waking up between 5:30 and 6 am (the price I have to pay to have him sleep through the night I guess).
- He has two teeth on bottom and one that just barely cut through on top
- He still prefers baby food to real food (crazy, I know)
- He is a messmaker! This kid is so busy. It seriously takes all my energy every day to keep up with him. He is constantly into things, and I feel like I spend my every waking hour following him around, picking up after him. He's worth it, though.
- He's already a tease. He loves to pull his sister's hair and get a reaction out of her. And on the rare occasion that Natalie takes a nap on the couch, he is relentless, trying to wake her up by pulling her hair and laughing.
- He can go up and down stairs by himself now, which has freed me of a lot of worry.
- He still doesn't walk, but that will come soon enough. I am in no rush.
- He loves to dance! Anytime he hears music on tv or from one of his toys, he immediately starts bobbing up and down with it. So cute.
He is such a joy to have in our home, and I feel so blessed to be his mom.
We had a full day of partying. We started our day at 5:30 am (certainly not by my choice, but the birthday boy wanted to get started early). Blake opened his present from us before daddy went to work.
We did lots of playing around the house and then after lunch, I took the kids for a bike ride. I made his cake while he was napping in the morning. When daddy got home, we went out to dinner and then to Toysrus where Blake got to pick a new toy from Grandma and Grandpa Bell. Then we came home and had cake.
I had fun making his birthday banner on my Silhouette
The hammer fun truck from mommy and daddy
His barn cake, modeled after his favorite Little People Barn toy
He just wanted to grab that cake
Making a mess of his cake, but not eating any
His new car from Grandma and Grandpa Bell. He loves it!
She loves it too :)

Oh my goodness! You did such a great job on the cake! and I loved reading about what Blake is doing these days. Natalies smile in the picture with Blake where he's playing with his new toy is classic. Love it! I love when you tell a kid to smile and they think all that means is to show your teeth:) Looks like you guys had a good day.
he is so stinking cute and looks so handsome in his new hair cut! iam glad he had a good birthday. The cake turned out super cute!!!
Wow, there have been some fun things going on at your house recently! Happy birthday to Blake, I LOVE that cake, good job! Your St. Patty's day post was so cute too and I love your new purchase!
They do grow up so fast! I know at times I can't believe I have 8 and 6 year olds. Enjoy the time now. Grandma Heelis used to tell me not to wish away the baby years to enjoy because they will be big enough soon. And she was right. It is good you are blogging because you will forget these moments otherwise. This is why I am glad I have done this as well.
