Rob's best friend from high school lives in Gilbert, Arizona, and he invited us to come see him and attend the temple open house. It was a perfect opportunity that we couldn't pass up. Not living in Utah, our kids don't often get the chance to go through a temple and we want them to have spiritual, testimony-building experiences.
We stayed with Rob's friend Sam, his wife, and their three kids. They have a baby that's only a few weeks younger than Jane.
Friday we went to the Arizona Science Center. It was amazing!
Then Saturday we went to the Gilbert Temple open house. We didn't have tickets, and we ended up waiting 2 1/2 hours to get in! It was worth it, though, Jane's monstrous fit and two other very whiny, tired kids aside. The temple was absolutely beautiful and I could tell the kids had a special, memorable experience going through it.
Here it is as we were leaving. Isn't it gorgeous?
The kids all had a great time playing together. We weren't sure if we were going to make it there after all, because Blake threw up in the car on our way there, about halfway through. But Sam and Jamie said to still come, and we're glad we got to.
Jane loved bouncing on their trampoline.
I forgot to take a picture of this, but we got to meet up with another of Rob's friends-a roommate from college while we were there too. It was great to see Wes and Kristie and enjoy a yummy dinner with them.
