My heart is so full as I write this post while my sweet baby Jane lies sleeping on my lap. I'll attribute it to the hormones, but I can't help but cry just thinking about what a special, wonderful opportunity and responsibility I have in bringing children into this world. Babies truly are miracles from heaven!
Though the delivery and birth did not go without complication, I felt so much peace through it all and knew that all would be well. Rob had given me a sweet blessing a few weeks before where I was assured that things would be ok. I knew that we were supposed to have this little girl even before I became pregnant, and I know that she was meant to come to our home.
After nearly 13 long hours, we welcomed her to this world. Heaven felt so close. I was so overwhelmed with complete love and joy at the sight of my sweet Jane, and the tears just flowed. We all just have so much love for this little girl, and I can't thank my Heavenly Father enough for sending her to us.
My last picture pregnant with Jane at 39 weeks right before being emitted to labor and delivery. Taken at around 3 in the morning.
Seconds after her birth. These pictures are unflattering, but I love them. The feelings are still so fresh.
Her first kiss.
6 lbs. 13.6 ounces. My smallest baby.
Proud father. He finally got to hold her about an hour after birth.
So happy and exhausted and hungry at this point. I didn't get to eat until 9:00 that night.
Just love this baby!
Brother and sister got to come visit this time. Blake wasn't sure what to think at first, but he is pretty well adjusted now and just loves his baby sister (sometimes too much). :)
Natalie was so excited to meet Jane. She's such a good big sister.
I got a lot of alone time with this sweet baby in the hospital since Rob had to go be with the kids at home after she was born. And there were no nurses in the nursery, so she got to be in my room the entire time.
About to go home from the hospital
Jane is such a precious, sweet baby, and we are so happy to have her in our lives.
