Yay for Natalie!!!!!!!!

I am so excited to say that Natalie is pretty much potty trained! She has done so well. I had been trying to coax her for a little while, but she finally decided last week that she was ready. It's amazing how much easier things are when children set their mind to something as opposed to being forced by parents :)

I made her a sticker potty chart, and she gets rewards for every certain number of times that she goes. So far she has only had one accident, and that was on the second day of training (knock on wood). I still have her in a diaper at night, but she is able to keep it dry, so I told her we would let her wear underwear to bed soon.

We let her choose a special toy for going the first time in the potty (She spent almost a full day just sitting on the potty and being afraid to go. Finally at the end of the day, she decided that it wasn't such a scary thing and went.) She chose a stuffed spider, of all things. So now my little girl runs around in her princess dresses, carrying a scary-looking spider. :) We just have to laugh.

I am just relieved that she decided to be trained, because I didn't want to have two children in diapers when the baby comes.

It's funny the things that excite me now as a parent. It totally made my day-my week-and my year when she "tinkled" and then especially when she "pooped" in the potty for the first time. I wanted to call a press conference and announce it to the world.

You are so talented! I dreaded potty training but like you said when they are ready they are ready and you can't force them. Michael was the first to potty train completely morning and night, then Edward and then Marinda. She had a harder time training for evening, so I told her if she could go three weeks w/out an accident at night that she could pick out her favorite movie. She did it and she has been trained ever since. Amelia on the other hand trained herslef and was night time trained before day time trained. I love how talented you are. I am getting excited for your new baby as well. Do you have a middle name yet? or you are not going to give him one? Take care, Love you lots, Amy

It's so true how things we never thought would be exciting become HUGE once kids are in the picture. I love it. The little things really are so wonderful.

Good for you! I tried forcing Emily before we moved because I figured if she was going to go on the carpet it may as well be in a rental right? It was a miserable failure and we will try again in a couple more months.

P.S. Try having 3 in diapers! hah. It's really not that bad.
